Why do we love Sabewan?
We've been asking fans for awhile to tell us the reasons you love this relationship! Fill out the form here!

Stephen says: I like it because, Obi Wan and Sabé have alot in common. They look great together, and it makes alot more sense than Amidala and Obi Wan. Yuck! But this, I can see this work totally. I first saw this site and I say, "Hey, I like this."

Kelyi says: I love S/O because the two are so made for each other. Both are bound by duty and honor that they will not break. Both contain a quiet type of strength, and a silent but firm presence.

Webmaiden says: It's an idea that is believed able and it's nice to have romance in the SW world that isn't just A/P.

Angie says: I love S/O cause it is so easy to like them. Their relationship is contagious and I find it's good when companioned to Anakin and Padmé. And I just love the 'chemistry' which we don't really see and I love the fact that Obi-Wan and Sabe are completely alike and not-alike.

Obi's Girl says: Even though I'm a hard core Obidala 'shipper, I love S/O because of the light hearted romance. Theirs is definitley a classic love story, and I like that about them.

Erin says: I LOVE the Sabe/Obi wan pairing! I hadn't thought about it at all until I found this site! I think they are perfect for each other :D

Halle says: I'm an Obidala and Sobiwan shipper, but this pairing just takes the cake ;) The two go so well together, and plus, Padmé does have Anakin. This love story is fun and classy, and Sabé's character has a lot of room for interpretation.

Katie says: Sabewan is such a classic, wonderful, open-ended romance! It just fits, and has become part of the way I think of Star Wars.

Lashelle Keifus says: I think that Sabe and Obi Wan is just a perfect Shakespearean romance! It's tragic and touching. (Every time I see that scene where they look at eachother on the landing platform, I thinks it's cut from the film, and they exchange that glance and lingers, I just sob and keep the tissues close!) Obi-Wan is a perfect strong person, for the quiet, yet strong Sabe. They look beautiful together. Amidala rules too!

Aoina says: The two go together like cake and birthday parties, they are just meant for eachother. I like S/O because it's a relationship that you can interpert for yourself and put your own imagination into, with Padme and Anakin it's laid out on the table for you..With these two there is mystery and friendship also. It's an all around fun story that you yourself can add things onto in your own mind. Very cute indeed. ^_^

Obi's Girl says: Their story is a undefined one, and it's fun to write Obi-Wan as a romantic :D

Yui Seta says: Just because... well, it's THERE! Written in the stars, not to mention in The Phantom Menace, too. =) They make a wonderful couple, with lots of good story potential.

C.M. Irwin says: First of all, let me state my age. I am 58 years old. Despite this 'advanced' age, I still am a hopeless romantic. I love love, period, and I am thrilled about your site. The romantic aspect of the Obi-wan/Sabe pairing is indeed compelling, but what makes it timeless and enduring is the wonderful framework of honor and duty; how these two do not allow themselves to be devoured by a selfish and obsessive love as their counterparts, Anakin and Padme. This is love at its highest and most desirable ideal; as described in Corinthians by Saint Paul. The willingness to sacrifice oneself for one's beloved and for the highest ideals provides the overarching template for how Obi-wan and Sabe interact. The fact that the fan art and fan fiction is devoid of R ratings and slash is also indicative of the type of relationship they share.

Obi's Girl says: Because I've always seen Sabé as a strong woman who would hide her emotions very well until the time would be right to tell Obi-Wan how much she loves him. Obi-Wan would be the same way too, but their love would be so great and so powerful, neither one of them could ignore it until they would be forced to reveal their love for each other.

Angel says: Yes just like I do with A/P or A/A. I knew S/O were a cute couple.

Ayem says: Sabe is one of the few people in the Star Wars universe that truly *suits* Obi-Wan. Her relationship with Padme reminds me a lot of Obi-Wan's relationship with Qui-Gon. Both are willing to give their lives for what they believe in, and both are (in my opinion) more level-headed than Padme or Qui-Gon. Also, they both become strongly attached to people (again with Sabe to Padme and Obi-Wan to Qui-Gon), but they have some difficulty with the whole "compassion" thing (Obi-Wan calling Jar-Jar and Anakin "pathetic lifeforms" and Sabe having trouble convincing the Gungans to join with her, since she was thinking only politically and not about the Gungans' personal wants). Sabe seems more like a Unifying Force kind of person, just like Obi-Wan, instead of a Living Force kind of person, like Qui-Gon, Anakin, and Padme. Sabe and Obi-Wan are both fiercely loyal and are often worried about doing what is right. Finally, I love this pairing because it's *not* in canon, and so there's so much you can do with it and so many different ways to interpret it, but for the most part the relationship is the same: two people bound by duty who meet and have a lot in common, becoming friends and more than friends. S/O is a wonderful story, with none of the darkness that taints A/P.

Jesse-Wan says: Even though I have never posted any fanfic I am a writer in my spare time. I love S/O because they are so open ended you can write anything!

Thistlewaite says: I've loved the idea of S/O since I first saw TPM. Obi-Wan and Sabé seem to have so much in common; inner strength, quiet wisdom, and a dedication to duty. Yet, one can also see there lingers a witty, fun-loving side to each of them as well! I can picture the two of them as a couple quite easily and was disappointed not to see Sabé in AOTC or ROTS.

Marie says: I don't know, but I find Sabé and Obi-Wan more intruging than Padmé and Anakin (whom I also like). Maybe it's because us fans get to write the romantic dialouge...

BloodRaven says: Actually I completely blame a tale I read by Maren Jensen for this one. It was so beautifully done and really made one think. She kept them both in character and chose to develop their friendship over rushing the romance and it just became so believable to me.
Not to mention the fact they are both 'warriors' in their own rights who will not hesitate to preserve freedom and the safety of their friends unites them perfectly. That and of course the unspoken chemistry...

Ginny-Star says: It's just this beautiful, wonderful pairing- full of angst and touching moments that are barely there. It's delightful, both are bound by this sense of honour and duty. They love each other despite of that and there's always this element of 'what might have been' that always lingers for me in the films. There are moments in the films where I can see how Sabe would have fit perfectly. It also provids this gorgeous counterpart to the love of Anakin and Padme, and provides a touch of irony to whatever Obi-Wan says to Anakin about his feelings.
