I have friends who like both Sabiwan and Obidala, and one question I keep asking them is why do you think that Padmé and Obi-Wan would betray Anakin?

Padmé made a commitment to Anakin, she told him she loved him 'truly, madly, deeply' (sorry, I can't remember the exact quote). Using this as evidence, I doubt highly she would turn her back on him and cheat with Anakin's best friend. I have a lot of respect for Padmé, she seems a good role model, except for the gowns which I won't go into. She seems someone who would never go back on her promises, which could be a reason she and Anakin fall apart.

Padmé will love Anakin until the end, she is a wife and eventually a mother, just because Obi-Wan is protecting her doesn't mean he will instantly fall in love with her. I believe that Obi-Wan will see Padmé as his duty, he will look after Padmé because of his guilt over losing Anakin, not because he had any romantic feelings towards her.

Another argument is the characters themselves. Both are very driven, Padmé in the senate and Obi-Wan being a Jedi. Both of them have too high morals to forget their duties. Obi-Wan is often known as a 'true' Jedi, who won't go against the rules of the Jedi. I also believe that Obi-Wan loves Anakin, he wouldn't hurt Anakin by taking his wife. If there is a mention of a love affair I believe it will come from Palpatine who is trying to turn Anakin from his friends, an Othello scenario. I doubt this will have any basis.

Obidala is something that I don't think has any substance if you take the above evidence into account. My personal opinion on the pair is 'OH GOD NO' but I believe that if you believe that Obi-Wan and Padme are meant to be together, make good reasons instead of basing it on thin air.
